- AMAZING HOLIDAY LIGHTS- FIVE THINGS TO DO- LIVE ENTERTAINMENT- HOLIDAY TOUR- TONS OF NEW FRIENDS…even a few GHOSTS Travel 200 Travel 200 years back in time when our Founding Fathers and their families sang carols, shopped for gifts, and spread holiday cheer. Tonight, the Mayor light’s up the tree and we take over Old Town to keep off the holiday Season! Old Town” is 250 years old. Throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, Alexandria was a bustling seaport town. Remnants of the city’s past have been preserved in the street names, architecture, and through stories of people who lived and worked in the old city. 1) GUIDED  HISTORICAL (and Ghost) TOUR: Tonight, you’re invited back in time for a private walking tour of Old Town, Virginia complete with Victorian-style decorations and historic holiday tales. Enjoy a night on the “Old Town” as our colonial costumed guide shows us the dazzling array of trees on King Street, the twinkling Christmas tree on Market Square, and the grand ships along the Waterfront. We’ll also stroll by some quaint, garland-decked shops and, with any luck, run into some spirited carolers along the way. (not to mention a stop near the cemetery for a few holiday spirits – some “Ghosts of Christmas Past” to arise to fill your holiday spirit with some chill). 2) CHADWICK’S: One of Old Town’s friendly neighborhood hangout along the waterfront. We’ll enjoy an after tour drink while taking in the splendid view of the Potomac. Here, meet with some of your fellow after dark enthusiasts before we continue to hit the night scene. 3) FISH MARKET RESTAURANT:This hot spot, originally used to store ships’ cargo over two centuries ago, is a historic and charming location. The bar comes alive as we enjoy live piano music (perhaps -though not officially scheduled yet – a dueling piano scenario) 4) MURPHY’S:This is an Alexandria institution. It’s an Irish bar best enjoyed in the company of others – in this case your fellow young professionals. Practice your singing, as you should not be surprised if entertainment and the entire bar breaks out into cherry Irish Tunes. ALL BARS AND CLUBS REQUIRE THAT YOU HAVE A VALID PHOTO ID TO ENTER. Thingstododc.com is the premiere social and networking organization for young professionals. From embassy events to nightclub parties, from oversea trips to scavenger hunts, from seminars and cooking classes to guided tours, ... there is something for everybody!
