Urban Folk Jazz Legend KJ Denhert & Trio Perform Special
Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT) Holiday Concert December 18
On Saturday, December 18, Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT) will celebrate its reopening and continue its Jazz Masters series with a special holiday concert showcasing the sounds of the KJ Denhert Jazz Project. The show will combine holiday themes and new material from the latest shows, including new additions from The Beatles, Paul Simon, Bob Dylan and KJ originals.
Urban folk jazz great Denhert, named one of Jazz.com’s top female vocalists and four-time Independent Music Award nominee, will be accompanied by Adam Armstrong on acoustic bass, Nicki Denner on keyboard/piano and Eric Halvorson on drums.
This return engagement for Denhert follows sold-out appearances at WCT prior to the pandemic, including her eagerly awaited annual holiday shows.
Reviewers have said that Denhert’s performance “will move you to laugh, to dance and even to cry.” They have praised her pathos, originality and impeccable musicianship, calling her “one-of-a-kind and not to be missed.”
Denhert has appeared at scores of festivals, has had residencies at the ’55 Bar’ in NYC, the ‘Baz Bar’ in St. Barts, and recently completed several consecutive residencies at the prestigious Umbria Jazz Festival in Italy. She performs solo, duo and with her full band.
There will be two sets, one at 7 p.m. and the second at 8:30 p.m. Tickets, $30 per set; advance purchase is strongly recommended.) Refreshments will be available.
WCT has recently upgraded his its ventilation and filtration systems and has also added a new A/C system. Masks must be worn during the performance and all ticket holders must show proof of Covid-19 vaccination.
