Guitarist Forming All Originals Band

Meets

New York City NY

Description

Influences stuff that I like, sounds cool or is interesting: CCR, Zeppelin, Stones, Nirvana, Blackfoot, Beatles, Sabbath, John Lee Hooker, Bob Wills, King Crimson, The Buzzcocks, Les Paul, Bob Wills and The Texas Playboys, Deep Purple, Glenn Miller, Slim Harpo, Link Wray, Mose Allison, RL Burnside, Dixie Dregs, Slade, Simon and Garfunkel, Badfinger, Ten Years After, Loony Tunes, Hank Williams, punk, new wave, folk, classical as well, tons of stuff. All originals, short form, straight to the point, updated fresh sounding progressions and arrangements that make sense, intros and bridges that relate to to the rest of the song. Don't expect classic rock or punk idioms done like it's 1977. That era is over. The train has left the station and it's not coming back. The songwriting in this band will not be a direct parody of zombie idioms and genres. It will have some of the cool flavors, but not the parody aspects that make current bands (who are trying to sound original) sound dated and not in a good way. If you want the parody aspects then go join a tribute band, you'll be a more comfortable there, because fanboy types are slaves to their influences and can't stop clinging to the past exactly as it was when they first started playing. I'd prefer hearing from creative musicians who appreciate yesterday's flavors (btw I think today's music really sucks and lots of musicians are just plain awful) and are eyeing up the future. Are you looking to get out of the rat race and write record tour make a living/full time? Meee tooo. Excellent players only, pro attitude, Bass, Drums, Singer/Vocalist, Keyboards, 28 to whatever age as long as you can play on a pro level, no shabbiness, you have really good ears and time to work at this. Include your contact info.
