A week of travel, fun, friends, adventure and LITERACY! Registration includes your child's copy of the book and camp Tee-Shirts Camp is $350 for the week, we are working to have our donors sponsor the majority of camp to make it more accessible, esp with the Holidays coming up. Parents will pay $150 of the total cost while the remainder is sponsored by donors. We appreciate your support in sharing the word to have people donate to our (on-going) Literacy program. This week is focused on Literacy. Each day we will visit a different Library in the Los Angeles area while reading through and studying the lessons in the Novel "A Christmas Carol" (we will be reading the young reader version of the novel). ** Pre Camp Homework – Read Chapter 1 Marley’s Ghost** Gems will come to camp having read the 1st chapter. The rest we will read together over the week. On Friday we will provide all snacks, Pizza's and allergy alternatives and treats for children. Charisse is a wife and mother of 6 children ages 9, 8, 6, 4 and 1 year old twins! She has worked with children ages 2-8 for over 16 years. Her knowledge from the classroom both as a student and a teacher, coupled with her experiences as a mom have helped shape and inspire her to share her mistakes, tips and tools that help for a happy home. Charisse is the owner of a Private preschool in Los Angeles CA, Hidden Gems Preschool. Charisse also teaches a children's Book writing class for The Community Literature Initiative at the University of Southern California.
