Description
Hi, I'm kind of new to drumming, or rather I've done a little on and off over the last few years but am now starting to take it a little more serious. I listen to and like just about everything in terms of music and moved down here from Portland, OR a few months ago (although originally from the East Coast). I think I have a solid groove with the ability to do some fills but have never played in a group setting. I want to get better and further develop my drum skills in a musical context with other beginning, intermediate, or even advanced musicians who have a little patience. I also understand and speak Spanish. Spent time living in Latin America and the Caribbean when I was younger. Love all types of Rock music (English and Spanish), also love Caribbean music (English, Spanish, etc...). I can continue describing all the types of music I love but this post would get pretty long. So basically I would love to get with a person or people that play another or other instruments who want to jam, busk, or who are putting together a project and need a drummer that's not overly advanced. Also it would be ideal to find someone who has a studio or a place to jam. I'm a decent, good guy in his mid 40's who wants to improve on drums. For now I'm probably more in the pocket type player rather than super dynamic. Also more finesse than power, etc...Just to throw out some names of what I've been listening to tonight to make sure there could be some similarities in musical taste, Morgan Heritage, Bob Dylan, Enrique Bunbury, Khruangbin, Tortoise, Chick Correa, Ruben Blades, Mdou Moctar, etc...Let me know if this could be of interest to you. Thanks for reading.
