Clemson OLLI is celebrating our 20th Anniversary - join us as we kick off our Winter 2022 Term in 1920s style! Clemson OLLI Winter 2022 Term Launch Thursday, January 20 at 2:00 p.m. Barker Ballroom at the Inn at Patrick Square Featured Speaker: Kathryn Smith Prohibition, the period when a constitutional amendment banned the production, transportation, and sale of alcoholic beverages in America, is sometimes seen as a colorful time of flappers and bootleggers. But the dark side of this period, 1920-1933, was very dark indeed. Using her book Baptists and Bootleggers: A Prohibition Expedition Through the South...with Cocktail Recipes, Kathryn Smith will guide us through the events leading to Prohibition, the Prohibition period itself, and the aftermath, as seen through the prism of the South.
