FREEPORT, NY — It may not be a "Christmas Miracle," but the owner of North Shore Linen in Freeport has reevaluated its decision to shut the facilities and lay off personnel.
The linen factory, with addresses at 20 Rider Place and 129 Hanse Avenue, is rescinding their Nov. 26 Warn Notice to close the locations.
The company, in business for 30 years, had previously posted that a sale would have caused the closure and lay off of all 111 employees by Feb. 24.
The premier linen and uniform rental service no longer intends to shut its doors, keeping its workers employed.
"Everyone is a family member and works together as a team towards a single goal; to make sure every customer receives the highest quality products, on-time, every time," North Shore Linen president Larry Gentile, on its website, describing the atmosphere for colleagues.
