Another Threat Closes Hamden High For 2 More Days: Officials

HAMDEN, CT — Hamden High School will be closed for two more days after the district received another threat directed toward the school community, officials announced late Sunday night. Hamden High was closed on Friday, Dec. 3 due to a threat made against the school, and it will remain closed on Monday and Tuesday after the latest threat. In response to the threat, Superintendent Jody Ian Goeler said the district is working with the Hamden Police Department and Mayor Lauren Garrett's office to develop a reopening plan. Goeler announced in a post on Twitter that the school will reopen on Wednesday, Dec. 8 with "increased safety measures." Detective Sean J. Dolan said the investigations into the threats against Hamden High School are ongoing. "Many students in our community took proactive steps to notify their parents, school officials and police about these online threats," Dolan wrote in a news release. Anyone with information regarding the origination of these threats is asked to contact the Hamden Police Department at 203-230-4000. Any information provided can remain confidential, according to Dolan.
