Did you used to own a Shiba named Maroo?

Maroo, a Black and Tan Shiba approximately 4 years of age at the time was turned into the San Jose Animal Care Shelter. He was turned in for Fear Biting and Resource guarding. I wanted to let the past owners know that Maroo was taken into Foster Care by the Bay Area Shiba Meetup and Friends, and spent nearly two years in foster care during the pandemic. During that time, he went through intense training and lived with another dog. Yes, he was still growling and biting, but with training and time, he overcame (Most, but not all) of his bad behaviors. He recently was adopted into a forever home, with a new Mom and Uncle who love him very much. He can still be a bit snarky, especially over treats, but they are continuing to work with him, and as you can imagine, the training is very expensive so we raised money through crowd funding. Now Maroo is a famous grumpy dog, loved by many Shiba fans all over the Bay Area. Thank you to his first family for loving him as much as you did and keeping him safe as long as you could. We want to let you know that Maroo is safe, and enjoying his new home. Happy Holidays to all.
