Press release from the City of Austin: December 3, 2021 Case: 21-3131186 Time: 7:57 p.m. Date: November 9, 2021 Location: 6100 block of Menchaca Rd. Deceased: Joey Wayne Edwards, White male, November 4, 1967 The Austin Police Department (APD) has identified Joey Edwards as the deceased in the November 9 crash. On November 9, 2021, at approximately 7:57 p.m., APD responded to an auto and pedestrian crash in the 6100 block of Menchaca Rd. The preliminary investigation shows a Ford Explorer was heading northbound in the outside lane when the pedestrian was in the roadway. The vehicle struck the pedestrian. The driver remained on scene and was cooperative.
