Free Bike Lights In Santa Cruz At Giveaways Tuesday And Thursday

SANTA CRUZ, CA — The city of Santa Cruz will host its final two bike light giveaways. All cyclists without bike lights can be outfitted with free front and rear lights from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the following locations. Tuesday: Delaware Avenue at Bethany Curve.Thursday: Midtown parking lot, 1111 Soquel Ave.The events will also include bike safety education, the city said. The effort is part of Santa Cruz County's Street Smarts initiative, which seeks to reduce crashes and related injuries. Bike lights were donated by Blackburn Design. Learn more about the initiative.
