Good morning, Mission, and welcome to Virus Village, your (somewhat regular) Covid-19 data dump.
Case numbers take a dive as hospitalizations remain in the low 20s, but the positivity rate ticks upward and the R Number estimates are rising.
In case you haven't noticed, since last year the virus appears to have shifted its base of operations in the City from the most disadvantaged to more wealthy neighborhoods. We now are seeing a signficant change in who is getting infected and where (see below). I have yet to read an analysis of this trend, but it is likely due to the outstanding work of the Latino Task Force and other community groups in collaboration with UCSF, as well as this year's welcome shift in Department of Health priorities.
