ADDISON, IL — A Glendale Heights man is accused of breaking into a 92-year-old woman's Addison home, duct taping her hands together and sexually assaulting her. Anthony Lane, 53, of the 2200 block of Century Point Lane, was charged with home invasion and aggravated criminal sexual assault in connection with the Nov. 22 incident. Lane is currently being held in DuPage County Jail on $5 million bond. On Nov. 22, the woman returned home from a dialysis appointment and went into her attached garage, where she found Lane standing in her doorway, according to police. Prosecutors say the woman tried to close the door to her home, but Lane forced it open and pushed her inside. Lane is accused of binding the woman's hands with duct tape, carrying her to the second floor of the home and sexually assaulting her before fleeing. The woman called 911 and was taken to a hospital after the incident. Police took Lane into custody Dec. 2 following an investigation. "The allegations that Mr. Lane broke into an elderly woman's home, duct taped his victim and sexually assaulted her are extraordinarily disturbing," DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a news release. Berlin added, "Thanks to the efforts of the Addison Police Department however, Mr. Lane was identified as a suspect, apprehended and now faces several Class X felonies punishable by up to one hundred twenty years in the Illinois Department of Corrections." Lane is set to appear in court again Dec. 21.
