PLAINFIELD, IL — Tischler's Market, a specialty grocery store and butcher off South Route 59, has temporarily closed its doors "due to illness" as of 3 p.m. on Dec. 4, staff announced on Facebook.
The market, located next to Peter Rubi, will be closed through Dec. 13. During the 10-day period, the facility will be sanitized, according to staff, and employees "will be given a much needed break to recuperate before Christmas."
The announcement did not mention which illness prompted the closure, and it's unclear if it's COVID-19-related.
Tischler's will resume normal business hours starting at 9 a.m. Dec. 14. The shop is typically open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday. Hours are reduced to 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, and the store is closed Monday, according to its website.
In the meantime, people who want to place orders for their holiday meals can do so by calling the store at 815-267-3146. Only a couple of employees are managing the phones, staff said in the post, so if someone doesn't answer, callers are asked to leave a message with callback information.
"We thank you for your support and understanding, and we sincerely apologize for this inconvenience," the business's message reads. We look forward to continuing to serve our community once we are all healthy again."
