Driver Killed In Cathedral City Crash

CATHEDRAL CITY, CA — A man was killed when the Dodge Charger he was driving went off a Cathedral City roadway and rolled over, authorities said Monday. The crash occurred just after 9 p.m. Sunday on Date Palm Drive south of Varner Road, according to Cathedral City police Sgt. Nathaniel Hanley. "At this time it is unclear if alcohol is a factor in the collision," Hanley said. Date Palm Drive was shut down for the investigation between Varner Road and I-10, he said. The identity of the man has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
