Mass. Man Accused Of Wrong-Way Driving, DUI On Everett Turnpike

NASHUA, NH — A Massachusetts may face additional charges after being arrested for driving under the influence on Sunday while accused of wrong-way driving on the Everett Turnpike. Around 11:30 p.m., New Hampshire State Police dispatch began receiving multiple calls about a vehicle driving north in the southbound lane in the area of Exit 10 in Bedford. As troopers arrived at the area, callers said the vehicle made a U-turn and was now driving south in the southbound lane. "It was also reported that the driver was driving with the door open and that he was hanging outside the vehicle," according to Lt. Bryan Trask of Troop B. Tipsters began following the vehicle before troopers were able to catch up to the driver to stop him. "Upon locating the vehicle, troopers also observed the operator to be hanging out of the open door as it traveled on the highway in the area immediately south of Exit 6 in Nashua," Trask said. The driver, Christopher Robinson, 41, of Salem, MA, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs and having a suspended license. Trask said more charges were expected.
