CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Walpole on Saturday. New Hampshire State Police and Walpole police were sent to County Road around 3 a.m. for a report of a suicidal man inside the home. The man, Jacob Gasbarro, 26, was accused of being involved in a confrontation with the officers outside when a state trooper shot him, according to Geoffrey W.R. Ward, a senior assistant attorney general. The Walpole officer did not fire their weapon, the report said. Gasbarro was taken to the hospital. Neither of the officers nor anyone else were injured during the incident. Neither officer had body cameras and there is no known video from the incident, according to a report. "The circumstances surrounding the trooper's discharge of his weapon remains actively under investigation by the Attorney General's Office and the New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit," Ward said. "Per protocol, the names of the officers involved in this incident are being withheld pending each officer's formal interview. It is anticipated that the interviews will be completed during the coming week. Once the interviews are complete, the names of the officers will be released." No charges have been filed in the case, he said.
