Tree Branch Attack: Woman Dials 911 At Supermercado, Cops Say

JOLIET, IL — Aaron Steven Foster, a 31-year-old Lockport resident, is now lodged in Will County's Jail after Joliet police say he attacked his girlfriend with a tree branch and also choked and punched the woman's dog on Saturday night. Foster's girlfriend managed to escape from the attack, running inside the Supermercado La Loma grocery store at 410 Walnut St., where she called 911 for help. Joliet police found Foster nearby. He was booked him into the Will County Jail around 10:30 p.m. The Lockport resident has been charged with aggravated domestic battery and obstructing justice. A Will County judge set Foster's bail at $75,000. According to Joliet police, officers got to Supermercado La Loma around 9:20 p.m. and that's when the victim told officers that her boyfriend had beaten her at a house in the 500 block of Leach Avenue. As Foster began breaking things inside the woman's house, she "grabbed her dog and fled the residence. Foster followed the victim outside and began punching and choking the dog. The victim attempted to intervene, at which time Foster began striking the victim," Joliet police reports show. After attacking the woman's dog outside, Foster found a tree branch and used it to hurt his girlfriend, according to police. Foster then hit the woman in the head as she tried to run away, police said. "While the victim was on the ground, Foster choked the victim nearly to the point of losing consciousness," police spokesman Dwayne English stated. After the victim managed to get away from Foster, she ran to the grocery store and dialed 911. The victim refused medical treatment for her injuries and because Foster refused to cooperate with Joliet police during the booking process, he was taken straight to the Will County Adult Detention Facility, police reports show. In Lockport, Foster resides in the 100 block of Runyan Drive, his jail records reflect.
