Body Found On Lake Norman Road Early Monday

CORNELIUS, NC — An incident in Cornelius early Monday morning killed one person, according to Mecklenburg EMS officials. Cornelius Police Chief Kevin Black said a motorist reported a person lying in the road and when police arrived, that person was deceased. The body was discovered on Torrence Chapel Road between Norman Shores and Schooner Drive. The road was closed for some time, but reopened before 9 a.m. Black said that person has not yet been identified and an investigation is ongoing.
