TUCSON, AZ — A 6-year-old girl was killed Saturday afternoon in Tucson after a pickup truck struck her while she and a family member attempted to cross Fort Lowell Road, according to Tucson police.
Emory Conway was taken to Banner University Hospital to be treated for her injuries but was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival, police said.
Conway and her family member had made it to the center multipurpose lane of Fort Lowell Road near North Geronimo Avenue when police say Conway ran into traffic headed east, and a pickup truck hit her.
Police say they are still trying to determine why Conway ran into traffic. The driver of the pickup truck stopped and cooperated with the investigation, according to police.
