PHOENIX, AZ — The man who is accused of jumping from a plane that had recently landed at Sky Harbor Airport Saturday morning now faces criminal charges, according to police. Daniel Ramirez, 30, is charged on suspicion of two counts of felony criminal trespass, according to Phoenix Police. Ramirez's family told ABC 15 that he was suffering mental health issues and that they were trying to get him some help even before he boarded the plane from Colorado Springs to Phoenix Saturday morning. Ramirez is accused of opening a galley door on his Southwest flight that had just landed at Sky Harbor, jumping out the door and running to an airport fire station where he barricaded himself inside, according to a report from the Associated Press. Fire fighters quickly got Ramirez out of the room where he had barricaded himself and he was then taken to a local hospital to be treated for a leg injury, according to the report from ABC 15.
