After a brief phone screening you will be invited to virtual zoom orientation where you can have all your questions answered and apply. Jump Start Courses for the Medical Assistant Program Classes Start in January The Human Jumpstart course is a prerequisite for the Medical Assistant program and many other career paths. Human Touch course is 3-8 weeks.   Requirements for All Applicants: • 18 years of age or older, able to work in the U.S. and a resident of California  •  High school diploma or GED  •  Computer and internet proficiency  •  Must have home access to a computer or laptop that is less than 7 years old • Willing to commit to 3-4 hours per day (estimated at 20 hours per week) to the online coursework  • Able to attend in-person clinical labs  • Able to commit to a mandatory, 4-6 week, full-time externship at the completion of the program.  • Ability to pass both a drug screen and background check with no felony convictions (a $77-$119 cost)  • Up to date immunizations including Covid Vaccine at student’s expense • Ability to lift and move a minimum of 20 lbs. and stand for long periods of time   • Must complete the 8-week, Human Touch Healthcare Jumpstart Course Additional Requirements for Medical Assistant Program Applicants:
Students who successfully complete these courses or can demonstrate English fluency and provide transcripts for both Anatomy and Physiology (within the last 5 years from an accredited college or university) and Medical Terminology with a grade of “C” or better are ready to apply to the Medical Assistant program. MA will be a full 8-12 month program with extensive in-person clinical coursework that will require:   • once Accepted MA students will pay a non-refundable $100 registration fee before starting the program and a $50 registration fee for the Human Touch Jumpstart Course.
