All ages bands Vern Fonk, Mr. Dinkles and The Pigeon and the People are a killer line up ready to knock your socks off! We are starting off the year right with a rock line up that is going to let them know we know how to party in Portland! Local noise makers Vern Fonk and The Pigeon and the People are going to be joined by Seattle band Mr. Dinkles for their first Portland show! Take the MAX Yellow line or bus number 4 to Kenton Proof of vax preferred and mask are mandatory. Friends of Noise is a Portland based nonprofit that puts the music first before alcohol sales. We pay all of our artist and teen sound engineers so that they give you the best show possible. We create safer spaces where teens can see and be seen as they rock out to a variety of genres of music. Here at Friends of Noise, safety is an extremely important priority. Our values consist of the following: We are a straight edged organization meaning we do not allow the use of alcohol, tobacco, and other recreational drugs at our events. Even if you are of legal age we still prohibit the uses of alcohol, tobacco, and other recreational drugs at our events. We do not tolerate any isms such as racism, sexism, ageism, classism etc. Any form of violence, harassment, or threats to anyone is not allowed. Deliberately damaging or not respecting Friends of Noise’s equipment and the venue that we are at is not allowed. Friends of Noise Mission: Friends of Noise is a 501-c3 organization that seeks to foster healing and growth for the creative youth in our community via the arts by hosting professional development workshops and inclusive all ages concerts that provide live performance opportunities for youth artist and hands on experience for emerging youth sound engineers Who We Are: In the face of many changes to our city, including fast-rising rents and many arts venue closures, Friends of Noise is a dedicated group which celebrates and preserves Portland's vibrant and diverse arts culture. Friends of Noise formed to create more opportunities for youth to produce, perform, and gather at all-ages music shows, and raise awareness for the need of a safe and inclusive all ages venue. We began as a coalition of non-profits and community leaders including My Voice Music, Young Audiences of Oregon & SW Washington, Music in the Schools, Rock ’n’ Roll Camp for Girls, PDX Pop Now!, Willamette Week Give!Guide, XRAY.FM, KBOO Community Radio, and The Rosewood Initiative. Core Values: -Mentorship and arts education -Increasing opportunities for youth involvement in our communities-Safe, inclusive community-Serving as many students as possible from Central and East Portland communities-Connecting and collaborating with East Portland community groups-Accessibility for transit-dependent youth -Engaging youth in all aspects of event planning and production-Building skills for economic vitality and empower future cultural leaders-Nurturing exchange between local and national artists
