You will be able to discuss your triumphs, challenges and needs as well as have a chance to provide feedback to Sister Doulas and the community collective so that we can provide better care to our Black Mamas. Meetings are free, and childcare will be provided at no charge to our mothers. It's time to show up for Black Mothers.  Mission: Our mission is to help Black Women survive and thrive through pregnancy.  About: We are a group of everyday women dedicated to an extraordinary movement to save the lives of Black mothers. The Black Mamas Community Collective’s goal is to reduce and ultimately eliminate the alarming maternal mortality and morbidity rates among Black women. Through programs, increased awareness, training, outreach and research, the Black Mamas Community Collective is leading the charge in Travis County to help Black mothers get the education and access to resources needed to have healthy pregnancies and birthing experiences. The Collective is made up of researchers, social workers, policy makers, public health professionals and community activists and consists primarily of Black women that have survived their own pregnancy and child birthing traumas. The collaborative team is taking a holistic approach to improving access and outcomes, from unpacking the systemic sources of racism in our healthcare systems to delivery home visits for Black mothers located in Central Texas.
