Description

Join Greenbelt Alliance for a scenic and not too devilish walk along the Devil's Slide. The Devil's Slide Trail is located near a spot where Highway 1 slid into the sea several years ago. The highway was rebuilt and rerouted and a new trail constructed near the doomed highway section. We'll hike this trail to enjoy spectacular vistas, coastal geology, and views of the area's wildlife. TOTAL DISTANCE This is an easy hike of 2.6 miles round trip. LEADERS Jim & Marta Kim WEATHER POLICY Rain cancels COST Free; reservations required. WHERE TO MEET We'll assemble at the parking lot at the south end of the Tom Lantos Tunnel off Highway 1. There is additional parking at Gray Whale Cove State Beach south of the Devils Slide parking area. NOTES Bring water, dress in layers, and wear good hiking shoes. If you have questions about this outing email Ken Lavin or phone (415) 543-6771 x 321.  This outing is in-person. We're excited to see you on the trail! COVID-19 protocol: If you are fully vaccinated, feel free to come mask-free. If not, please plan to wear your mask for the duration of this outing.
