In this Rest Portal, you will be guided through gentle movement and breathwork before being led through creating your nest of supreme rest and through a yoga nidra practice. Pushing back on the conditioned models of scarcity or “close enough is good enough”. This means you’ll need some props like: -A yoga bolster (detachable couch cushions make great bolsters) or a few pillows (body pillows are great!) **Will be provided** -All the blankets (they might be “yoga blankets”, couch throws, or towels. weighted blankets are great too! Have at least 3) **Will be provided** -A yoga mat if you have one, if not bring an extra blanket. -2 yoga blocks if you have them. **Will be provided** -A lite eye pillow or dark piece of fabric. -Layers like soft sweater and cozy socks . -Any items that signify sacred space to you like herbs, crystals, plants, photos. Pre-Portal PreparationIf you have the space, 15 minutes before the portal opens begin to prepare your practice space. You may wish to sweep the floor before you lie your yoga mat & blanket down. You can light incense or cleansing herbs (open a window!). Dim the lights of your space. And up the heat a bit if you can, the body tends to cool in restorative yoga and in the relaxation response. Set an alarm if you think you might fall asleep and need/want to wake up at a certain time. Potential Benefits:Being guided in a sacred container in a systematic way offers the thinking mind space and a place to rest. Invites a sense of equanimity and innate wholeness. Supports stress and anxiety management, healthy immune system, and digestion. Invites us into parasympathetic nervous system activation, think rest and digest, and the Relaxation Response. Cultivates a connection with prana, the vital life force energy. Post-Portal Care:Move slowly Hydrate! Avoid screens or loud / jarring sensory input, you might be extra sensitive to sight and sound. If you have a night time skincare routine, do it with slowness and intention Resources:What Is Yoga Nidra?
