Established Soul, Funk and R&B Band Looking for Female Singer

We are a large SOUL, R&B and FUNK band with a big, tight sound in search of female singer. Of course, all players will be considered, but strong preference will be given to people of color. We are a big family looking for a versatile singer who can sing backup and take lead all with a good attitude and real stage presence. We'd prefer someone looking for a band, not a "gun for hire" offering to sit in on gigs. We practice once a week. Everyone in the band has day jobs so we practice mostly on weekday evenings and/or weekends - depending. You must be available for weekday and weekend gigs! If you are stuck at work till 6 or 7 PM every weekday and can't get away from work or family every so often for a show, this position is not for you.
