First, today's weather: Low clouds and fog may break. High: 52 Low: 45. Here are the top stories in Sacramento today: Mobile vaccination clinics have launched in Sacramento. The first pop-up clinic was at The Salvation Army on Alhambra Boulevard on Saturday. Saturday's event was funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, which provides four vaccination mobile units and is conducting pilot testing in Sacramento and Yolo counties. The project team hopes to expand to other counties. (FOX40) One person was arrested and 14 cars were towed after a sideshow in north Sacramento on Saturday, according to police. Sideshows are "illegal gatherings in which groups of drivers take over intersections, city streets, stretches of busy freeways and/or parking lots to do tricks with their cars, including burnouts and doughnuts," The Sacramento Bee reported this fall. The event organizer of the Natomas sideshow was arrested on active warrants related to previous sideshows that resulted in thousands of dollars of damage to streets, police said. Overall, 14 cars were towed, 20 misdemeanor citations were issued and 15 infraction citations were issued throughout the night. (KCRA3)The Sacramento Kings beat the Los Angeles Clippers for the second time in four nights with a 104-99 victory on Saturday. Terence Davis made all four of his 3-point attempts in the third quarter and finished 6 of 11 from beyond the arc. Tyrese Haliburton added 18 points, six rebounds and five assists for Sacramento (ABC10)Thousands of athletes hit Sacramento for the 38th annual California International Marathon on Sunday. Sarah Vaughn handily shattered the women's record first established in 2013 by Volha Mazuronak at 2:27:33. Vaughn broke the record at 2:26:53. Brendan Gregg came in first for men at 2:11:21, roughly a minute shy of the 1993 record established by United States runner Jerry Lawson at 2:10:27. The race, which took a year off due to the pandemic, is now a much-needed multi-million-dollar boost for local businesses. It's not just hotels and restaurants, but other businesses particularly along the racecourse are seeing a flood of customers. With upwards of 10,000 runners in town, the estimated financial impact for the region is in the area of $10 million. (KCRA3 & CBS Sacramento) With the Sunrise Tomorrow plan for the 100-acre Sunrise Mall property in Citrus Heights now approved, the city says significant interest is being seen from developers. In a Nov. 29 video update from the city on social media, Community Development Director Casey Kempenaar said constructing residential housing on the mall's outer parking areas is likely the first place development will start, given the current demand for housing. He also said adding residential buildings to the outer parking areas will help bring more people to the site. He added that the plan is flexible enough to allow for changing market conditions over time.
