Note: This is a temporary/on call position with a potential to be permanent hire. Can be part time if that is what you have available. Location: West Central Denver Hours: Days/Times are flexible, about 40 hours per week. Pay: $19-$22.50 per hour (depending on experience and skills) Description: I am a 46 year old woman with a rare disease that leaves me bedbound with pain and fatigue. I have a monthly budget to pay for an aide to help me live in my home and community. The position includes help with daily living activities, housekeeping, organization, cleaning, cooking, shopping, medication assistance, access to the community, benefit renewal management. and medical research and advocacy. It can also include helping me with bathing and other personal care. If you don’t like all parts of the job we can hire a third party to do some of it (as long as we stay under budget.) Supervision and funding: I would be your direct supervisor, you are paid through a third party payroll service. The funding comes from the Medicaid Waiver program for the Eldery, Blind and Disabled/ CDASS (consumer directed assistive and supportive services). I have many years management and human resources experience. Qualifications:  Experience in direct care for people with disabilities and/or understand the concept of self-determination.   Over 18 years old.   Able to pass a background check.   Able to lift, twist, bend, carry, stand and walk for several hours at a time.   Ability to stay calm in stressful situations (my medical stuff can be scary sometimes).   Reliable transportation (some of this job requires travel to multiple destinations in the city, like going to the pharmacy, grocery store, or other shopping.)   Above average organizational skills (needed to manage and keep the household and my medications organized.)   No Nursing or CNA qualifications are required; you do need to have the ability and desire to learn about medications, dosing, side effects, as well as various medical issues, so you can help me manage it all and advocate for me when I need it. Job Description Hours: Flexible up to 40 a week. Salary: 40 hours per week at $19-$22.50 an hour Overtime after 40 hours per week Workweeks go from Sunday to Saturday, it is your responsibility to track your hours and report them to receive any earned overtime. Position goal: To help me to achieve a life worth living. A lot of that is taking away as much of the burden side of living away from me as possible. Job description: Cleaning: keeping the residence and car (when I get one) clean and free of dust and debris. Maintaining a clean house supports my health and well being. Organization: Keeping supplies, essentials, and food stocked and organized, including shopping and searching for the best prices. Organization that adapts to my disability ensures I still have access to essentials. Cooking: Prepping meals, helping with meal planning, keeping kitchen and food organized, food safe and clean. Medication: Managing meds including filling medication machine, tracking receipt, expense and refills and calling the pharmacy, research new pharmacy options or coverage options when needed, and with help from me, sending messages to the doctor for refills etc. Ensure any medication issues are addressed at the appropriate doctor meetings. Develop a good tracking method for them. Medical Visits: Most of my current medical visits are at-home. Assisting to out of home visits is important, at some points I may also need an advocate. Administrative/Advocacy: Make phone calls and follow up on benefits and other necessities on my behalf as needed. Sometimes I am able to do this myself and sometimes I am not. Other important notes: You are not on call. You do not have to respond to calls or texts from me that aren’t in your working hours. Please do not wear perfume or colognes on your shift. You must be comfortable with a cat in the home and medical marijuana use.
