Al Salam Jumua Salah AsSalam Alaykum Dear Community Member, We hope everyone is healthy, safe and in high Imaan. After considerable deliberations by the Board members in consultation with the Medical Advisory Panel (MAP) as well as with other faith congregations in our area, Al Salam Foundation will resume Jumua prayers. Al Hamdulillah! The prayers will not be held at the current 9551 location but at the New Joy Lutheran Church in Westfield, which has graciously offered their outdoor pavilion to our congregation for holding the Jumua prayers. Safety of our families and greater community remains our highest priority and we have put together a strict social distancing plan to ensure all aspects of the event prioritize safety. Additionally, we would need to be respectful of our host’s facility during the entire time. Location: New Joy Lutheran Church, 316 W 156th St, Westfield, IN 46074 Khutbah Start: 1:45 PM Iqama: 2:00 PM 1. Prayer will be held in an outdoor pavilion. Please dress appropriately for the outdoors. 2. Prayers open for people of age over 15 years and less than 60 years who are not high risk individuals. 3. Following minimum health precaution are required from those coming for salah, please no exceptions: a. Face Mask on at all times covering nose and mouth b. Bring Your Own Prayer Rug c. Arrive in the state of Wudu (Church rest rooms will not be accessible) 4. Social distancing during khutbah and prayers will be observed (maintaining 6 feet minimum distance). Please sit on the marked spots even if part of same family to maintain social distancing for all congregants. 5. No social mixing, hugging, handshaking or physical contact of any sort allowed. 6. Upon completion of salah, please pray sunnah and nawafil at home. COVID-19 Warning and Disclaimer We are taking enhanced health and safety measures to safely conduct the Jumua salah. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and other members with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. Al Salam Board of Trustees, Board of Directors and New Joy Lutheran Church officials, Pastor, their staff and associated volunteers are not responsible for any adverse health effects associated with exposure to Corona virus or the COVID-19 disease to any one attending Jumua service at the Church site. By attending Jumua prayer you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 disease and the Corona virus. Stay healthy and in high spirits! May Allah protect everyone from the COVID-19 disease. Al Salam Friday Prayer COVID-19 - Self-Certification People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. Refer to the CDC website for complete list of symptoms. You are completing this self-certification on behalf of yourself and all members of your family. By registering, you agree that you and your family members will only attend prayers if, on the day of prayer, you and everyone in your household is in compliance with the following: 1. Do not have a fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or greater, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, tiredness; and 2. Have no loss of sensation of taste and smell; and 3. You and anyone in your household do not exhibit any relevant CDC stipulated COVID-19 symptoms; and 4. To your knowledge, you have not been exposed to anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 (unless you have self-quarantined for 14 days following that contact) or been exposed to anyone who has been tested and is awaiting test results.
