Description

Violinists Fritz Gearhart and Charles Wetherbee perform violin duos from the last 300 years in this classical music concert. Classical violinists Fritz Gearhart and Charles Wetherbee perform a fantastic collections of duos from the last 300 years. Fritz Gearhart is professor on the faculty of the University of Oregon School of Music. He has performed coast to coast and around the world, but enjoys the Oregon coast most of all! He has known Charles for many years -- both grew up in Buffalo, New York and studied with the same violin teacher as young players. Charles Wetherbee is professor on the faculty of University of Colorado Boulder, and has enjoyed a varied career of orchestral, chamber music and solo performing. Coming together is a joy for both players, exploring this collection of music written especially for two violins. The Redfish Music Festival hosts a week long classical music festival on the Southern Oregon Coast in August, but also features "off season" events throughout the Northwest in the Fall and Spring. The RMF presents classical chamber music concerts, which are concerts that involve groups of 2-6 people performing together.
