Get into the holiday spirit as you explore outer space! Happy Holidays from DGCAC!Friday, December 10th 4:00 - 7:00 pmJoin us for Holiday Frost, our holiday giveaway event. Explore the holidays in Outer Space – featuring a Martian candy store, a visit to the moon with Apollo 8 and games with your favorite characters from Star Wars. Admission is free, reservations for timed entries required. If you take a picture at the photo-op, be sure to tag us on Facebook (Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center) and/or Instagram (@downinggross). For groups larger than 10, please give us a call at 757-247-8950. When completing the registration form, you will be asked to provide the name and age of the children for whom you are registering. Masks or protective facial coverings are strongly encouraged when entering the building. The Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center is a multi-purpose cultural space in the Southeast community of Newport News, Virginia. Originally built as the Walter Reed School in 1917, our historic building has been restored and open to the public since October 2008. In addition to the 276-seat Ella Fitzgerald Theater, we have rooms for meetings and events, as well as studio space for visual and performing arts. The Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center is a facility of the City of Newport News department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism.
