It's bowling time in the Permian Basin! Come out and support our Special Olympics Texas Area 18 athletes! Thank you for volunteering for the Special Olympics Texas Area 18 Bowling Competition! We're excited to have you with us helping to create a fun and competitive experience for our athletes! Please see the available volunteer assignments from the list below. When registering, please pay close attention to the shift times available as some assignments have multiple shift options. Volunteer Assignments: Assignments are for a morning shift and will include helping with breakdown.Shift Options Include: Lane Shifts - Volunteers will be assigned a lane and will keep track of scores, report any lane issues, and make sure the athletes are bowling in the correct lane and in the correct order. Awards Shifts - Volunteers will be assigned various lanes to monitor and give out awards to athletes as they're earned throughout the event day.Equipment Shifts - Volunteers will assist with the setup/tear down of the event, and help to ensure each area has the supplies/equipment they need throughout the event. General Information: Attire: Face masks are required at all times. Please dress for comfort and mobility. Wear comfortable closed-toe shoes - you will be on your feet most of the time. Sandals and open toe shoes are not permitted at Special Olympics Texas competitions.Training for each shift option will be held at the start of the shift. Parking: General parking is available at the venue.Age Limit: Must be at least 15 Years old to volunteer without a parent/guardian present. Each "ticket" represents a volunteer slot for that shift. Each volunteer will need to register individually. Please pay attention to the shift time when you register. Our MissionThe mission of Special Olympics Texas is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
