Description
Busta-Groove is seeking an Experienced, Professional, and Committed Drummer. We perform all the typical Top 40 Cover Dance Hits. Our set list is large and consists of all the top hits from Motown until today. You will need to be familiar and comfortable playing these tunes. Oh, and we do also play jazz cocktail/dinner sets on occasion. Our website is www.busta-groove.com so check out our song list, audio/video clips etc. *Please read the ad below completely before reaching out. It’s a long ad so I apologize in advance! lol* We perform mostly at private events ie. weddings, parties, corporate events but we do occasionally perform at nightclubs, casinos and summer festivals. On average we usually play 1-3 live gigs per month especially during the summer/fall seasons. We do practice when needed and the practices are online using the Jamulus app so you would need to have access to that. Your pay depends on the gig. Local (Bay Area) club/festival pay can be as low as $100 but the private/weddings pay a lot more. I’ll discuss with you directly. Here are our basic requirements for our drummer position. 1. Be professional, flexible and reliable. 2. Good equipment. Bonus points if you have both acoustic and electronic drums. 3. Be open to playing with a “click” & “backing tracks”. Most of our songs are 100% live but there are some songs that you’ll need to play with a backing track. 4. We use in-ear monitors on stage which keeps the stage volume down so you’ll need to be comfortable wearing either ear-buds or headphones. 5. If you can keep a solid deep pocket and keep good “time” when you play that’s WHAT WE LIKE!! Being solid is more important than being flashy. 6. If you can sing either backup or lead vocal on a few songs that would be awesome. It’s not required but it would cool. 7. You must be available for at least 90% of the shows. We don’t like subbing folks in and out as it affects the quality of our show. 8. Ability to play multiple music styles well i.e. Motown, Classic Rock, 70’s, 80’s Through to Today’s Hits. Also, playing jazz is a plus. 9. Have to ability to rehearse online using the Jamulus app. Things we are not looking for in a drummer. 1. Always late, unprepared, unprofessional and makes excuses. 2. Lousy old equipment, no transportation etc… 3. “Rock Star” drummers. We are a group of people that get along great with each other, so we want to keep the chemistry solid. If you have a hard time getting along with people don’t bother applying. 4. This band needs to be the priority. If you’re in multiple bands which would cause a conflict for a show, then this band isn’t for you. Subbing in other bands is cool as long as it doesn’t conflict with this band. Thanks for reading the whole ad. If you have links to some of your audio/video clips, please send them to me. Best of luck in your search. Jeff BG
