Farmworkers Worker Protection Standard Training

Description

Training required for workers on farms that aren't family members. One of the changes made to worker protection standard in the last couple of years is the requirement for workers (not including family members) on farms to comply with worker protection standards training for chemical handlers (involved with the application of the pesticide) and workers (others that work on the farm not involving pesticides) to obtain the training prior to working on the farm as well as the training required annually. This requirement is something that growers have the responsibility to make certain their workers have (unless they have already had it in the current year) and if they do not have it, to provide it. In addition, the growers must have documentation that each worker has had the training. This is something that the NCDA&CS Pesticide Inspectors will check for among other things.
