Want to learn how to grow your own fresh vegetables? Topics to be covered include: site selection, soil sampling and much more! With rising food prices and shortages due the the COVID pandemic, home vegetable gardening is once again regaining popularity. Many people desire to become more self sufficient. The N.C. Cooperative Extension, Cherokee County Center is going to offer a three day class series on vegetable gardening for those wanting to learn how to grow vegetables or just improve your gardening skills. The dates are February 9th, 10th, and 11th starting at 9:00a.m. and until 11:00a.m. If meeting restrictions allow, the classes will be held at the Extension Educational Classroom, 699 Connahetta St., Murphy. We are going to limit the class size to 10 and you are encouraged to wear a face covering. In case we are not allowed to meet face-to-face, the classes will be offered virtually via Zoom.
