Would like to learn from someone about investing in stocks, etc

Recently new father here, not doing great financially but would like to take some of my savings and start investing. Completely ignorant when it comes to stocks and crypto or other forms of investment and would like some help with it. I’d be willing to start as small as $50, going up to a total of $1000 right now. I’ll be inheriting a house in a couple years and plan on renovating and leaving that to my son as my life’s gift to him, but I’d also like to have some investments pay off for him by then, as well as a few for myself along the way. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
