Manhattan Building Company in Jersey City has opening for Maintenance Technician / Handyman for leasing, hospitality, maintenance & property mgmt. team. Join Property Mgr., Building Super, Assist. Super, 2nd Maintenance Tech already hired & Cleaning, Porter, Painting staff in new 350 apt. luxury building. *TOP PAY for TOP SKILLS* (non-union). Our goal is to PROMOTE a high performer in this job, to Assist. Super in about 2 years, with our portfolio of new & existing properties and increasing staff. Must live in, or within an hour commute to Jersey City/Hoboken, and have current proof of legal ability to live & work in the U.S. ABOUT MANHATTAN BUILDING COMPANY: 35 year track record of success in Hoboken / Jersey City area of Hudson County, with in-house development, architecture, civil engineering, construction mgmt, property mgmt. & leasing teams. Multiple high/midrise residential projects underway and scheduled out for YEARS OF WORK TO COME, LONG TERM CAREER OPPORTUNIES for our staff. MUST HAVE 5 or more years full time employment as skilled maintenance tech / handyman / super or asst. super in modern luxury building(s) where much work done by in-house staff, less by outside contractors, always interacting with staff & residents politely & professionally: -HVAC; heat pumps, gas furnaces, air handlers, electric/mechanical door locking systems, other system parts using multimeters, high voltage meters, other tools needed. -PLUMBING; training & finding leak sources, snaking drains & drain lines, repair pex piping, repair or replace hot water heaters, repair toilets, sinks, tub & showers, etc. -ELECTRIC; trace, find & repair shorts in lines, replace circuit breakers, switches, outlets, bulbs & light fixtures, other electric equipment, systems and equipment. -APPLIANCES; diagnose, fix, replace dishwashers, microwaves, washer/dryers, refrigerators. -FLOORS, WALLS, DOORS / CARPENTRY & PAINTING; install, repair, replace tile, grout, wood floors, carpeting, walls, doors, ceilings, repair structural damage to windows, doors, walls and perform necessary repairs & painting. TRAINING / CERTIFICATIONS: Not required but strong consideration given to candidates with OSHA certifications or specialized maintenance certifications (CMT, CAMT), or specific certifications in HVAC, Plumbing, Electric, Carpentry, Appliances, etc. BENEFITS PACKAGE: -401 K -Medical, Dental, Vision insurance. -Paid vacation time, personal/sick time, compensatory time for work req'd on holidays, unusual emergencies requiring on-site maintenance presence.
