ABOUT THE DJ: Some of DJ Clothterry's mixes can be heard at soundcloud.com/clothterry. Cloth originates from the country above the US, and had been playing and purchasing records, playing drums, and studying jazz and afro-cuban music for several decades before turning to DJing. His roots in funk and disco, house then techno of the soul-tinged kind were natural progressions. Lately he has been moving into grittier underground house and large room techno, but always balancing it with the musicality of the genres of his roots. He aims to give dancers and listeners as thorough an emotional, physical and spiritual workout as possible every time he plays, whether it's Thelma Houston or Robert Hood. ABOUT THE VENUE: Trident Booksellers has been hosting a range of quality electronic music events in its Saturday night series for some time; with a focus on techno and house in a venue which is a safe space for diverse identities and everyone's lungs, it is a refreshing alternative to mainstream nightlife in Boulder and Denver. Bring people who want a fun, respectful place to dance to extraordinary music and unique DJs, with clean air, and a view of a treed yard! This is not a bloated club or a warehouse/basement or a festival ground: it's something in between all these, and is quite magical when the dancefloor gets going :)
