Description

A presentation by Edmund Potter from the 116th Regiment Foundation on the history of the 116th Regiment and Fauquier's role in the regiment. On December 11th, the Fauquier History Museum at the Old Jail will be hosting a lecture on Fauquier's role in World War I through the story of the famous 116th Regiment with Edmund Potter, a curator and member of the Board of Directors for the 116th Regiment Foundation. The lecture will be at 7PM in person and will be streamed virtually for those who cannot make it in person. The 116th regiment fought in some of the hardest battles of 1918 and many of the men in the unit came from Fauquier, including Company C of the 2nd Virginia, also known as the "Warrenton Rifles" which became Company C of the 116th Regiment. This will be an exciting and unique opportunity to talk about Fauquier in the "Great War" and we hope to see you there!
