Here’s what we expect from our kennel technicians: • Assume a caretaker role and personal responsibility for the wellbeing of each patient. • Act as the face and spirit of CCVH. Make every interaction meaningful and personal and strengthen the bond between CCVH and our clients and patients. • Ensure patient comfort by maintaining a high level of cleanliness in both the direct and indirect environment and the patient themselves. • Recognize and attend to individual patient needs. For example, this may mean slowing down when approaching a patient, providing more frequent exercise, personal attention. • Recognize, record and alert medical team of any unusual condition or abnormal behavior of any animal in our care. Observe all patients’ appearance, appetite and activity for signs of illness and discontent. Record regular observations, where needed, for patients throughout their stay. • Accurately and diligently follow patient care instructions from clients and the medical team. • Maintain standards of work and specific tasks as outlined in the training process. • Act as a representative and liaison for the hospital.
