Peabody Students Honored At Hamilton, Vermont

PEABODY, MA — These Peabody students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinction at colleges and universities across the nation. Gabrielle Hebert is serving as a University of Vermont College of Nursing and Health Sciences peer mentor for the 2021-22 academic year. Known as "LINKS," mentors provide first-year students with friendship, guidance and a connection to the UVM community. Jacob Casallas is among the new or returning students enrolled at Elmira College for fall 2021. Lydia McGinn was recently elected to the Epsilon Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa at Hamilton College. Phi Beta Kappa, which established a chapter at Hamilton in 1870, is the oldest and most prestigious honor society in the country. Students are elected to membership in recognition of their exceptional academic achievement in fulfilling the goals and purposes of the college. McGinn, a senior majoring in art history and French and francophone studies, is a graduate of Pingree School. Maxwell Corson joined the Lasell University community as a student this fall. Corson is majoring in criminal justice. St. Lawrence University welcomed Jenna B. Durkin as a member of the Class of 2025. Durkin attended Bishop Fenwick High School. St. Lawrence University enrolled more than 640 new students this fall, including 625 members of the Class of 2025 and 17 transfer students.
