Description

OAK CREEK, WI — The City of Oak Creek announced on Facebook it is looking for more election inspectors ahead of future elections. In many respects, poll workers sit at the frontlines of our democratic process. They have many roles, but one could typically expect to check in voters, process absentee ballots, help people register to vote and check photo IDs, according to my.vote.wi.gov. Training is provided by local clerks ahead of elections. There are several requirements to become a poll worker: You must be a qualified elector in the county. This means you have to be an adult citizen of the United State who has lived in the election district for at least 28 days. You cannot be disqualified from voting. You must be able to read and write fluently in English.Poll workers cannot be a candidate for any office that is being voted on at their polling place. To become a poll worker, residents can fill out a form of interest online at Wisconsin's voting website. Fill out this online form, which will then be sent to Oak Creek's clerk. The City's Facebook post said people who fill out the form will then be contacted by the clerk.
