Good day, neighbors! It's me again, Nicole Fallon-Peek, your host of the Roanoke Daily. First, today's weather: Mild with periods of sun. High: 66 Low: 42. Here are the top stories today in Roanoke: In just days, Roanoke may become one of the first cities in the Commonwealth to ban camping on sidewalks — a move that some residents believe will target an already-vulnerable group. The move comes after multiple complaints about the homeless population, as Roanoke business owners have expressed concerns about the homeless blocking sidewalks, trespassing, and urinating in public. The city plans to continue to dedicate a good portion of its funds to affordable housing and mental health services, as well as making more resources available for businesses looking to help the homeless. (WSET)Students in Roanoke will be a bit warmer this holiday season thanks to a special initiative from Humble Hustle. The local nonprofit gave 260 donated coats to students at Westside Elementary School to keep them warm this winter. Over the last five years, Humble Hustle has donated 1,600 coats to Roanoke City School students. (WDBJ7)Two men were injured in a Thursday night stabbing near Vermont Avenue.
