Here are the top stories today in Burlington: The state of Vermont is investigating a Burlington elementary school after an allegation of a student being improperly restrained, putting three district employees on paid leave. The alleged incident happened at the Flynn Elementary School in the city's New North End. While details of the event are unclear, the Department for Children and Families, the Agency of Education, and the Burlington School District will all be conducting investigations. (WCAX)Two former residents of the Sears Lane encampment have been dealt another blow in their lawsuit against the Burlington city government: a Superior Court judge denied their request for a second hearing in the case. Campers Alexus Grundy and Grey Barreda allege that, by removing campers from Sears Lane, Burlington violated its policy on disbanding encampments. In response, officials argue that, even if the city violated its policy — and it maintains it did not — campers don't have a legal right to stop the city from disbanding encampments.
