District 70 Hires New Director Of Facilities, Operations

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — The Libertyville School District 70 board of education recently approved hiring Peadar Hurley as the new director of facilities and operations starting. He is expected to start his new job on Jan. 4, 2022. Hurley is coming from his position as the director of buildings and grounds at Skokie School District 73.5, according to a news release from District 70. Hurley replaces the late Dan Gilbert, supervisor of facilities and maintenance. He has extensive experience working for school districts, having worked 5 years as a director in Norridge School District 80. He also spent time as the head boilerman for Maine South High School, and was an engineer and custodian supervisor at Walter Payton High School, according to a news release. Hurley, a mason by trade, has done extensive work in construction, is a qualified stationary engineer and holds certificates in building operator certification, certified plant supervisor, and certified professional maintenance manager, according to school officials. He attended the Regional Technical College of Limerick and Triton college studying structures, quantities, applied mathematics, and surveying. Hurley enjoys camping, traveling, playing and coaching sports, including soccer, hurling, rugby, basketball, cycling and running. Stay Patched In!
