Press release from the McHenry County Government: 12/02/2021 4:07 PM PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: On December 2, 2021, Jose M. Perez, 61, of Chicago, Illinois, pled guilty to the offense of Drug Induced Homicide and was sentenced to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections by the Honorable McHenry County Judge Michael Coppedge. Jose M. Perez was arrested in March of 2020 arising from an investigation that revealed that he delivered cocaine to another that ultimately resulted in the death of the victim.  Under Illinois Truth in Sentencing Guidelines, the defendant will be required to serve 75% of his sentence. The case was investigated by the North Central Narcotics Task Force and the Algonquin Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant State's Attorneys Kyle Bruett and Brian Miller. ##### This press release was produced by the McHenry County Government.
