UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — People in need of a COVID-19 vaccine or booster dose can get their shots at a free clinic being hosted by a neighborhood community center this weekend. The vaccination event will be held Saturday, Dec. 4 at the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center on East 93rd Street and First Avenue. It is co-hosted by NewYork-Presbyterian Kids' Komansky Children's Hospital, Weill Cornell Medicine Clinical & Translational Science Center, Community Healthcare Network, and Stop the Spread. Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, as well as booster doses, will all be available. While all online appointments have been booked up, any walk-ins who arrive between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. will be able to get their shots, organizers say. All vaccines will be free. Ramping up the neighborhood's vaccination rate is imperative, especially as winter approaches and the omicron variant arrives in New York City, organizers said. "Isaacs Center is proud to partner with the extraordinary medical teams at Weill Cornell and New York Presbyterian to once again serve as a COVID-19 vaccination and (now) booster site," said Gregory J. Morris, the Isaacs Center's president and executive director, in a statement. "Throughout the pandemic our organization has remained committed to operating as a neighborhood hub for public health resources and information, providing for those in the community who would not otherwise have access and continue to shoulder the burden of citywide health inequities." The vaccine event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Isaacs Center, 415 East 93rd St.
