Roles and Responsibilities The Superintendent is responsible for managing project plans and timelines, monitoring laborer performance, supervising crew and subcontractors, and ensuring jobs are completed on schedule. They should have strong knowledge of residential and commercial construction, remodeling trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, structural elements, inspections, specifications, quality control, cost control, M.E.P, and safety. The Superintendent should be proficient at the following tasks: stain-grade trim work, drywall – metal studs, hang doors, drill and set door hardware, set windows, layout for stairs and common rafters, concrete formwork, demolition and build-outs, painting, and service work. This person should be highly skilled, have a knowledge of all trades, and be ready to work! Qualifications and Education Requirements Five years of construction experience Five years of trade experience Ability to perform construction-related activities for prolonged periods in adverse weather conditions. High School Education or Equivalent Valid driver’s license Record of excellent client/customer service Staff Management experience Preferred Skills Ability to read blueprints/building plans, compile pricing for bid packages, compile estimate for value engineering Quality control Woodworking Hand Tools Budgeting Time management Problem solving Knowledge and proficiency with project management and estimating software are a plus.
