Drummer seeking to start Doom/Progressive Metal Band

Description
I am 24 years old. I have been playing the drums for 16 years. I originally started with metal, however I studied Jazz extensively in college. I would like to find some passionate like-minded individuals to start a Progressive Doom Metal band. What I mean specifically by that is something with Doom Elements (low tunings, slower tempos) but also blending odd time signatures, polyrhythms, and metric modulations into the songwriting. I'm not big on blast beats, or long periods of fast double bass, and i'm not into writing everything being unison with the kick drums. I'd like to make something that goes the other direction than what is fairly popular in metal nowadays. I do not play any other instruments, though I write some of my own riffs with an 8 string emulator on my computer, and have developed my musical ear, though I have a limited knowledge of music theory. Here are some metal bands I love: Gojira Mastodon Tool Meshuggah Animals As Leaders Car Bomb High On Fire Sleep Intronaut I am looking to start a 4 - 5 piece, (Two guitars, Bass, Vocals, Drums) but one guitarist is totally fine as well, ultimately it would be up to that guitarist if we feel the need to have another. I have been through the ringer of band BS so it is important to me we keep the drama to an absolute minimum. Since I would technically be the person who starts this band, I will also be the person who will remove anyone immediately upon exhibiting any sort of extreme toxic behavior. I am always willing and open to talk about issues in a mature manner. I already have a rehearsal space at Rock Around the Clock in NW Portland, so we can rehearse there. I am looking to make some TIGHT music, so short rehearsals once-twice a week would be great. I practice on my own almost every day. I have a full recording setup for my drums, and know how to track demos and what not fairly easily. I know a good bit about mixing as well. I have connections with some major metal bands and individuals in the area so gigs can be easily attained once we are ready. I would like to make this my main long term project, and I am looking for at least somewhat of the same motivation from the other band members as well. I am totally open to creative input from others on forging the sound. I would prefer we don't feel like a bunch of musicians for hire in the room and can form friendships between us, and we should spend some time prior to solidifying any songs just trying to build chemistry on and off the instruments. Most of all, let's have some fun! Must be vaxxed!!! If you are interested please contact me via email, thanks!
